Heritage runs deep in the town of Waleska. The small, close-knit city is also home to Reinhardt College, named for its founder A. M. Reinhardt, a former Confederate Captain who wanted a local institution to expand education opportunities. Reinhardt UniversitySince its founding, the college has anchored the town's economy and cultural influence, most notably through the Funk Heritage Center which focuses on the art and history of Southeastern Indians and European settlers. A Great Place to Call HomeWaleska has grown steadily with several newly constructed subdivisions, and it is preparing for more progress through recently designated neighborhood and commercial zonings. Lake Arrowhead, a private, gated golf community, is home to the South's largest man-made lake, covering more than 540 acres with depths of 80 feet. Population: 644 |
