The Chamber’s Partners in Education Committee, in conjunction with the Cherokee County School District, will host the 9th Annual “Principal For A Day” program tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in all of Cherokee County’s public schools. This program encourages increased awareness of public education among community leaders and also furthers relationships between public schools and the larger community.

The half-day program provides participants with the opportunity to learn first-hand about current educational issues, the changing roles of school administrators and the daily challenges facing educators, while offering principals the perspective and input of a person outside of the system. The program will conclude with a seated luncheon from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Chamber’s Terrace Level.

Participants, during a pre-event orientation, randomly draw the name of the school where they will serve as "Principal For A Day".
