The Chamber’s 37th Annual Dinner was held on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the Appalachian Technical College Education Center on the Jasper Campus.

Highlights of the evening included the recognition of the outgoing Chamber Board members and the introduction of the incoming Board members who will serve a three-year term ending December 2010.  2007 Chairman Rod Drake passed the gavel to 2008 Board Chairman Dale Morrissey with First Cherokee State Bank.

Drake, who is Area Manager with Georgia Power, also had the honor during the Annual Dinner of presenting the Chairman’s Council Volunteer of the Year Award to Benny Carter with Southeast Restoration Group, Inc., as well as, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, co-sponsored by the Chamber and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, to Alan Thompson, MOJO Productions, Inc. The 33rd Annual First Citizen Award was presented to Wade Buchanan.



Each Annual Dinner attendee was entered in a drawing for a chance to win roundtrip travel for two from Atlanta to anywhere AirTran flies in the U.S. The winner of the trip was Desiree Chandler.
